The House of the Windy City
Rather than provide any analysis or ramble ad infinitum about my interpretations of house I thought this might provide some interesting insight into Chicago (I'll be there in under 2 weeks time). Some great bits of archive recordings and a good, if not simplistic, overview of house's beginnings. What's certainly interesting is the section with Black Madonna (Maria Stamper) at Smart Bar and the decline in house music in Chicago.
I shall leave the other opinions up to you dear reader.
